In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing.

I don't know why I'm even attempting this when I can't put much more praise together than 'It's really good *smiley face*', but goddammit, I shall forge ahead.

First up is Parhelion. I first discovered Just Another Evening at Home with Evil Manifest. And I think what I love the most about it, other than the fact that it contains sauce and cheeky and bickering and cheerful menace, is the fact that it is from something I have never heard of, with characters I'm not familiar with, and yet I could soak myself in it and understand it ever so easily from the first word onward. That tends to be hard for me, and I don't know whether it's because I'm especially obtuse or just is.

Then you can read a fic like Collared and experience yet more writing that is accessible and straight-forward (for lack of a better term) and yet so incredibly detailed. Like, the way they describe the collar coming off -- wonderful details, all contributing to the flow of the story. You'd think that detail would be an easy thing to do if you're into it, but sometimes it's just not, sometimes you find yourself just plumping up the word count with it as you write around in circles. They don't have this problem. (At least, not in the finished work. :D ) And then there is the understanding of history. My little heart, which holds a B.A. in history, loves them for this.

The other author I'd like to briefly celebrate is kindkit. You want fics in mainstream fandoms? He does Doctor Who and Harry Potter and X-Men. Have a hankering for something based on the epic of Gilgamesh, do you? He can help with that. He even wrote an Arthur/Uther fic that is just as lovely as everything else.

I'm just going to throw some more out here:
Shoes For His Feet
The Undone Years

I think I like his stories so much because there is just such an elegant sadness to these, an understanding of aching and loneliness and want and mortality, of scars and flaws and vulnerability. They are like little memento moris for love.

I'm going to flail and start crying if I keep at it, so I'll leave it at that.
