Snowflake Challenge #3
Jan. 3rd, 2014 11:32 pmIn your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser-known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom who maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.
Abandon by stories(afinch) (no fandom, gen) Brief and sad, with a pointed message thrown in.
...And All Things Will End by Saturnyn (Norse mythology, M/M, R) I like how the first couple of paragraphs look like verses from the Voluspa.
accustom me to joy by Morbane (Germanic mythology, gen) Likewise, I like the use of alliteration in this one.
So, I like stories that are succinct, that have something to say, that are technically elegant, that are poignant and sad and full of feels. Bonus points if everyone dies.
I also like silly things.
Curs'd Crustaceans by unhurt (Deadliest Catch, Sig and Edgar Hansen, PG) ...really fucking silly things. Also, terrified Edgar.
